About Our Company
Brimz Abroad was launched in 2012 by Donald Jones III, a former NFL wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and his father, Donald Jones Jr. With the desire to invest in the town where he grew up in Plainfield, NJ, and allow his family's love of hats to continuously live, Donald, along with his father thought it ideal to open a hat store in Plainfield, a town where in its heyday was previously home to over 15 hat stores.
A New Generation
Prior to the 1960s, men and women did not leave the house without a hat; they were just as popular as shoes. Unfortunately, once celebrities such as Elvis and President JFK made it trendy to bare their heads, there was a steep decline in hat sales nationwide.
However, some people never lost their love of hats. Brimz Abroad was created to provide a place just for those types of people. With our passion for brimz, we want to introduce the art of wearing headwear to the younger generation and actively demonstrate how a hat can elevate one's attire. For those baby boomers out there, Brimz Abroad wants to bring back the memories of the time where everyone you knew wore hats.
